Technical Cleaning Supervisor

To support the Technical Cleaning Area Manager with the effective management and coordination of the Window Cleaning & Specialist Cleaning services team to ensure operational efficiency and quality, whilst identifying new opportunities and value add.

This job is full time at 45 hours per week from 4 am to 1:30 pm daily (Monday to Friday and occasional Saturdays).

Operational duties

  • Responsible for implementing and carrying out tasks as set in the technical cleaning schedules
  • To participate in weekly operational planning meetings
  • To effectively manage Adhoc/ one-off work where required by management.
  • The nature of the job requires the post holder to be flexible in order to support the requirements of the business.
  • Carry out technical cleaning tasks which will include, but is not limited to, window cleaning, cladding cleaning, pressure washing, carpet cleaning, laboratory cleaning and commercial office cleaning.
  • The position may require the individual to work at height using ladders, MEWP, harness, Bosun’s chair and power-operated elevation equipment such as ‘cherry pickers’. (Training will be provided as required)
  • The position will require the individual to use a combination of traditional window cleaning methods, as well as water fed pole systems for cleaning at height in addition to using other cleaning equipment, which is not limited to, pressure washers, dryers, floor buffers and scrubbers.
  • Any other ad hoc duties, as required by the management team, within the reasonable scope of the role. This may include covering the duties of a cleaning operative if required.

Quality, Service and Efficiency

  • To ensure all scheduled tasks are completed within the prescribed timescale.
  • Ensure that all tasks are consistently completed to the high standards as detailed in our SLA and KPI and in line with our core values.
  • To audit the quality of work and provide feedback to staff to ensure standards meet SLA and KPI requirements
  • To monitor and report to the Technical Cleaning Area Manager any issues identified by the team
  • Actively promote and demonstrate the core values of Quality Care Cleaning by way of appropriate conduct and performance on shift.
  • To present a professional image to clients, the public and other Quality Care Cleaning staff at all times.
  • To contribute ideas, through the appropriate channels, to continuously improve the service we offer to our clients and staff.
  • To report to the Technical Cleaning Area Manager any new business or innovative opportunities where applicable.

Human Resources

  • Actively participate in weekly feedback/ worksheet planning meetings with the Technical Cleaning Area Manager
  • To assist the Technical Cleaning Area Managerin the induction of new members of staff and providing refresher training when necessary
  • To develop your own personal skills and capability where ever possible. This could be provided by the company or through self-development or may involve the post holder attending compulsory training courses for specialist cleaning.

Health & Safety

  • Liaise with the management team to ensure adherence of both our clients’ health & safety policies and Quality Care Cleaning’s health & safety policies and procedures.
  • Attend and complete external training courses considered relevant within the scope of this role. This may include, but is not limited to; IOSH, IPAF , First Aid
  • Participate in all health & safety refresher training and toolbox talks as required by management.
  • Ensure all equipment is used for its intended purpose, appropriately maintained and safely stored after use. This will include loading and unloading equipment from the vehicles.
  • Report all accidents and near misses to the Technical Cleaning Area Manager
  • Report to the Technical Cleaning Area Manager  any relevant Health and Safety issues that arise.
  • Apply knowledge of COSHH, risk assessments, Health & Safety legislation and hygiene best practice to ensure safe working practices when completing each task.
