We are currently looking for a trustworthy and detail orientated Cleaning Operative to work in two locations in the South Cambridgeshire areas of Babraham and Little Shelford.

We are offering a morning cleaning position for 3.25 hours per week at a rate of £8.75 per hour.

The first element of this role is in Babraham in which the Cleaning Operative will be a key holder due to the flexibility of hours. This location requires 1.75 hours per week and can be done on any day of the week that is suitable for the applicant. The 1.75 hours need to be completed before 07:30AM on any given day.

The second element of this role is in Little Shelford on Monday mornings only. The hours we are offering for this location are 08:00AM – 09:30AM.

The Site Cleaning Manager Job Description

Job Title: Site Cleaning Manager

Based at: A well-established science campus, South Cambridgeshire

Reports to: Regional Manager

Responsible for: Managing a range of cleaning services with a team of 36 staff

Job Purpose

To effectively manage and promote cleaning services at a site/ sites allocated to you in line with Quality Care Cleaning standards, policies and statutory requirements, and as directed by the Managing Director and other representatives of Quality Care Cleaning management. To manage all aspects of the site cleaning operations ensuring superior standards are maintained through cost effective methods providing absolute value for the client whilst maintaining GP margins with a view to contract retention.

Operations

To oversee the effective and efficient scheduling of work across the site to meet key performance indicators, quality standards and budgetary constraints as set by the client.

To be the principal day to day contact with the client representative, carrying out additional reasonable works as requested, on time and within budget.

To ensure sufficient resources (staff, equipment and consumables) are available at allocated sites to maintain an effective service to clients.

To contribute to, and to then monitor and manage effectively the site expenditure budgets, making savings where possible.

To generate, analyse and manage reports as required by management and the client, for example the management of the site KPI reports.

To effectively manage one off, or additional, work where required by management or the client.

Liaising with all suppliers to ensure that equipment is in working order, consumables are provided in a timely manner and waste management is effectively delivered.

Human Resources

To carry out selection, interview and screening of new recruits to ensure new staff meet Quality Care Cleaning standards.

To complete, record and return to head office, relevant new starter administrative paperwork, ensuring that all Company process is complete and legal requirements (i.e. Right to Work) are adhered to.

To carry out or make arrangement for staff inductions by the appropriate person as required by the Company induction practise and site requirements.

To plan all site staff training within budget, carry out or make arrangement with the appropriate authorised persons and report on training as required for each individual by the Company and the client/ site requirement and by maintenance of the Training Matrix.

To provide feedback, probationary period reviews and carry out appraisals with staff as required.

To consult and report to management any performance management issues and/or disciplinary action that may be required. Managing through any investigations and performance management processes, including improvement notices and disciplinary hearings (to written warning level) ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed as per company policy and within policy timescales. Escalating any performance management issues beyond written warning level appropriately.

To monitor and manage staff hours as per contractual requirements and to manage the process of accurate payroll submission.

To manage site staff absenteeism or additional staff hours worked, ensuring that absenteeism levels and additional hours are within acceptable parameters.

To request authorisation and report to head office any changes that may affect the employees’ statement of employment, terms & conditions, working patterns or pay rates etc. Ensuring that all updated documentation is duly signed and staff records up to date.

Ensuring that any personal details held by Quality Care Cleaning are retained in adherence to the General Data Protection Regulations.

To carry out return to work interviews and exit interviews, completing the relevant paperwork as per Company procedure.

To communicate employee grievances to the Company.

To promote positive team morale and staff comprehension of service requirements through day to day interactions and monthly staff meetings.

Health & Safety

To liaise with the client and manage staff to ensure adherence of both our clients’ health and safety policies and Quality Care Cleaning’s health and safety policies and procedures.

Carry out all health and safety refresher training and toolbox talks as required by the client or company for example; working safely at height and checking associated equipment.

To ensure all equipment and materials are available to carry out safe working practices, managing regular equipment safety checks, expiry dates and safety standards.

To report and investigate all accidents/near misses and complete relevant paperwork as set by legislation and the Company, managing through any adjustments required or performance management issues arising.

To report to the Company any relevant Health and Safety issues that may arise.

Quality Control

To manage the site team effectively thus ensuring that Client KPI standards are achieved and remain in “green”.

To include positive direct liaison with the client. Liaise with clients as directed to manage good client relations.

To maintain up to date information and records in a timely fashion as required by the contract and Company, and to meet legislative requirements.

To carry out and report audit results as per inspection schedule, ensuring immediate action is taken to resolve non-conformances.

To follow the Company complaint/compliment procedure.

To liaise with the client and manage staff to ensure adherence of our clients’ security policies.

To proactively identify and promote any additional services to the client.

To present a professional image to clients and other Quality Care Cleaning staff at all times.

New Business

Maintain and promote QCC brand image.

Report potential business leads to head office.

Report competitor activity to head office.

Other

To attend meetings and take minutes / produce final reports as requested by the Company.

To develop your own personal skills and capability where ever possible. This could be provided by the Company or self-development.

Our ideal Site Cleaning Manager will evidence the following:

– Experience of commercial cleaning, or similar service based industry with a track record of delivering outstanding services.

– Proven managerial experience. Have the ability to motivate staff plus provide ideas and information to improve & update current processes. Good attention to detail and ability to multi task.

– Efficient work scheduling skills with focus on maintaining high standards.

– Excellent written communication skills commensurate with normal business standards.

– The ability to effectively communicate at all levels, with good presentational skills.

– A self–driven, positive outlook and a clear understanding of high customer care standards.

– Excellent computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office; especially Excel and Word.
